How to use GarageBand
IntroductionGarageBand is a well-equipped, free, beginner-friendly music production DAW software.
DAW stands for “Digital Audio Workstation” and is an application for music production on a computer.
In this day and age, anyone can easily create professional quality sound sources and orchestras (background music without singing) from anywhere and at anytime.
A decade ago, this would have been unimaginable.
Since the advent of smartphones, we can now make music with one hand and upload it to the Internet with the other, making it possible to do some pretty amazing things right at our fingertips.
Even if you don’t play an instrument, you can easily create professional sounding music by tapping, dragging, and dropping sounds.
The ability to create songs now means that you can create your own songs, memories, and masterpieces in the future.
If you learn how to use GarageBand, which I will introduce in the next section, you will be able to take it one step further. You can skip over what you already know.
You can skip over what you already know, or you can look up what you don’t know and use it.
Let’s start using GarageBand, little by little, and create music that we can leave behind for the future.
Your music will be a treasure for a lifetime.
Why Choose GarageBand?
This section explains why GarageBand is a good place to start when creating music.
When creating music digitally, it is important to start with the lowest possible cost.
By cost, we mean the cost of making things, but you need to save not only money, but also the cost of time.
GarageBand makes it easy for beginners to get started and create songs without difficult music theory.
This is a very important point. Anyone can create songs, easily. This is the most important factor.
So, if you are using a Mac, you should definitely start with GarageBand. Other DTMs cost too much and are very unproductive.
With the proliferation of the iPhone, GarageBand has become a familiar application. Now that everyone can make their own music, interest is growing.
Growing up with GarageBand and living a musical life with GarageBand is probably why I chose GarageBand.
